Successful ๐Ÿ™Œ

With the recommendations from Qatar Airways being we get in touch with them to cancel our booking and to request a promised refund, I spent some time trying to figure out how to do that successfully, and also knew we would need to find a way round the Middle East conflict.

One morning earlier this week I sensed that we were to find a route home by flying east. Anyone who knows their geography will know that humanly speaking that direction is the โ€œlong way roundโ€ to go to Dublin from Cambodia.

Another sense I had was that we were to take the first step to Taipei (the capital of Taiwan).

It took two full days of work to investigate that eastern route home, but, last night, I was able to switch off the iPad and relax, knowing that we had successfully found an itinerary back to Ireland with all flights (except the first and last) being obtained free with points and miles.

Today, we begin the trek that, with hotel stops to break the journey, will take almost 5 days to complete! Here is the itinerary with planned stops marked with a suitable emoji.

Phnom Penh to Taipei ๐Ÿ›Œ

Taipei to Seattle to New York ๐Ÿ›Œ

New York to Londonโ€™s Heathrow and finally โ€ฆ

London to Dublin

Arriving in Dublin we still have a three-hour bus journey ahead of us and then a drive of ninety minutes or so. Then ๐Ÿ›Œ will be very welcomeโ€”our own ๐Ÿ›Œ
