This Was Fun!

It has been very busy in PNG with the cluster translation work among 70+ translators and that’s why I have been a little quiet in recent weeks. Hopefully I will start posting some more pieces in the coming days as the current cluster winds down and closes next week.

In the meantime, you have to love this one!

We asked the translators in our group today, “What happens in your culture when someone dies and what do your people believe culturally happens to a person who dies?”

The answer we got from at least three of the cultures was hilarious. (They were laughing too, as they now have the biblical perspective on what happens after death).

In several of the language backgrounds they said that a dead person often comes back as a white man from another country!

So it would appear that I am some dead Papuan come back as a pasty white Irishman!
