The Whole Book?
I wondered if I was biting off more than I could chew?
Right now our team here in PNG is working on seeing the translation of the Gospel of Luke into several languages.
One of the fun (and thoroughly refreshing) things about this is the preparation we are pursuing as a team. It involves “internalising” the book so that we can ‘connect’ with the Gospel in our heart. We have read the whole book in one sitting, both together and personally, and I have been very excited by this whole experience. I have been seeing new things all over the place and have come to appreciate that Gospel like never before.
The crazy idea came to me, as I thought of Bruce Kuhn’s rendition of the book to an audience in Youth With A MIssion’s base in Lausanne, and I wondered if I could learn the Gospel of Luke similarly. I know if I have the book ‘internalised’ that way then it will be of use and a blessing to the translation process this summer, and, no doubt, useful for presentations of Luke in the future.
So, I am prayerfully moving forward towards the goal of having the Gospel of Luke in my heart as a whole book!
