Night and Day

Monday was brutal.

For some time now we have been trying to plan and arrange our upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic (DR).

The occasion is responding to a family invitation to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 90th birthday.

However, at first it was a slew of full days or one distraction after another that hindered our booking and sorting the trip.

It got so late that, finally, when we could work on planning, everything looked bad and all the good flights were gone.

However, like the Irish weather this morning—if you don’t like it now then just wait five minutes!—the dark, grey, cold skies and hail falling down was replaced by clear sunny skies!

Yesterday, I began the day—Day 2 of my attempt to find flights, lodging and ground transport for April’s trip ‘across the pond’—and I committed the morning into the LORD’s hands.

Coming out of that surrender before Him I began to get inspiration and guidance that, by the close of the day, was a complete turn-around.

We had FIVE nice flights booked, four of which were free and one was so cheap that it was not worth spending the points and miles to get it! Not only that, but we had lodging sorted and a car secured in the States, and another in the DR, for the several days of movement and road trips in both countries.

What looked impossible and “too late” on Monday was completely turned around from night to day, winter to spring, in one period of eight hours in our Father’s hands.

Yet again our mighty God took what looked like a bad forecast of cold, and what was hopeless in my mind, and switched it over into a sunny and beautiful plan that was never going to be too late.

Praise the LORD!
