Moving On …
Our time in Hawai’i is coming to a close.
We have been here for almost a fortnight now. The divine appointments have been continuing. There have been precious times discussing all manner of spiritually practical subjects with so many people, young and older, who have had questions of the heart. One young person, with whom I have been spending some time and who regards me as a grandparent, has asked me to baptise her.
Yesterday, after a delightful sunrise service in the old airport park in Kailua Kona, with all the churches of the city represented, greeting, dancing (hula) Hawaiian style and worshipping, we had the joy of spending a number of hours with a dear woman of God from my home county of Fermanagh. She is serving with Youth With A Mission here. Rich fellowship, laughs, and the discovery of some special connections between our families dating back to the ‘80s were just some of the blessings poured upon us.
Then it was back to watch the stunning Easter service from our dear Fintona church family. Some absolutely powerful testimonies were shared in the service.
For nearly two weeks now we have been trying to set up the connection with Youth With A Mission’s work in PNG and have been stymied on several fronts as we have sought to see how we can go serve down in PNG since the OBT (Oral Bible Translation course) was cancelled here in Hawai’i just as we were leaving Ireland.
After a somewhat challenging weekend, we are delighted to report that things are finally moving forward and we were able to submit our applications today for the eVisa needed for PNG. With those approved—supposedly in the next ‘number of days’—we plan to change some flights and hotel bookings as we transit through Australia.
Our hope and prayer is to be in PNG on 1st May.
