Those Beds Speak

As we stepped out to go houseless (but not quite homeless) back at the end of April 2019, I deigned this web site to post pictures of beds (or other surfaces) upon which we would be laying our heads.

When I designed the web site I thought I would be showing pictures of lots of unusual “beds”, e.g. sofas, hammocks in jungles, pop tents and maybe the odd rug thrown on the ground. I realise now that I thought that would be more the norm and what I might consider to be “nice beds” would be few and far between.

Now there have been one or two odd places in which we have slept (and forgot to snap a picture to post 🙄), but the reality is that it has been the exact opposite of my expectations: we have had some pretty amazing sleeping arrangements.

This morning, as I spend my last day of this current trip to PNG in another nice hotel bed, it has dawned on me just how kind and generous the LORD has been to us with so many nice beds in houses and places we do not own nor rent.

His promise to us in Matthew 19: 29 is our testimony:

“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”

Yes. We have and do experience the “hundredfold” of our Father’s care and generosity. He is faithful to His promises and we have over six years proving it every … single … night.

My bed tonight in Port Moresby, PNG. He is faithful and He delights to give His children good things.
