The Bulgarians Are Coming Too!
Something amazing, something incredible is happening among the Bulgarian communities in Ireland!
For some time now we have been seeing Bulgarians turn up at our meetings in Armagh, Enniskillen and, of course in the main church in Fintona, Co. Tyrone. They appear now in every service.
We have met them on the streets and heard of Bulgarian speaking fellowships dotted here and there.
The hunger and the desire for more of Jesus among these dear folk has been quite staggering, to say the least. A few weeks ago a young man, whom we met on the street in Omagh, came to Jesus and testified shortly thereafter, quite spontaneously, that he had been delivered of a heavy gambling addiction.
On Sunday past a Bulgarian came to know Jesus after hearing a sermon she could not understand as she does not yet speak English! The Holy Spirit spoke to her spirit and she knew she needed to respond to the altar call and give her life to Jesus.
After Sunday’s service our new Bulgarian brother (delivered from gambling addiction) went down to a visit a Bulgarian congregation in Cavan (90 minutes drive away), and, noticing many sick and infirm in the congregation, he got up and told them they needed to come this weekend to the meetings in Fintona to be healed. After he finished speaking the church went wild with cheers—I saw the video a friend of his took of the incident.
The day before yesterday I was busy scrambling to find a way to translate the meetings this weekend for the fifty Bulgarians expected to be present in our Fintona church on Saturday through to Monday. Two Bulgarian church leaders are also flying from Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria) to be present at the meetings.
Thankfully I found a system that can use personal smartphones, tablets or computers to allow people to tune in to someone interpreting (or speaking), using a simple Wi-Fi network and no software needing to be downloaded! We can use it to broadcast the translated sermons to the fifty Bulgarians in the church and to any Bulgarians in Bulgaria who want to listen from there (or anywhere else).
Exciting days! Watch this space for news on this weekend as I get opportunity to report about it.
