Happy New Year!

My wife and I trust that the New Year has entered well for you and that it will be a mighty year of answered prayers and long-term desires realised!

For a long time (over 32 years for me) we have had the habit of starting off each new year by giving thanks for specific acts of the LORD’s faithfulness from the previous year and then committing the new year into His loving hands as we break bread together right on midnight. We sometimes did this alone, sometimes with our girls as they were growing up and were of an age to stay up so late, but other times, as we did last night, we have joined with others to see in the New Year with prayer.

It has always been a special time for us and last night was no different. The service was actually five hours long and what a time we had! People joined in from all around the world to take part in the service online and there was much joy and thanksgiving. We got to church—the physical one—at about 10pm while others had already been there for an hour, and with lots of praise, and anticipation for this coming year we were deeply encouraged by a message from God’s Word after midnight, around one in the morning.

A Special Announcement for those who love photography or viewing pictures

If you know me, you also know that I love photography and particularly from a smart phone. As encouraged by a friend, by way of helping improve photographic skills and editing, I have decided to take up the “365 Day Photo Challenge”. I have set up a page here on our web site to post a photo that I hope to take each day. No doubt there will be quite a pictorial story told over a year! And let’s see if I improve in my photography as the year goes on! Anyway, if you’re interested, come back every now and then or bookmark the page to see what photos I post up there.

And maybe as the year progresses I will get the chance to be more regular on this blog page too! (I’m not making a resolution on it though! 🤪).
