15 Days to Go

Welcome to our new home on the web.

If you have checked out the About page you will see that we have decided to ‘up sticks’ and leave our (rented) home of 11 years to cross the globe in a totally new role in our organisation, meaning we could not keep our current home.

To travel we have had to wade through tons of paperwork and belongings from our 14 years in Northern Ireland as well as the mountain of stuff left by my deceased mother and aunt! Making digital copies of everything and sorting out items to give away, that would not be possible for us to keep or take with us in our total of 3 suitcases, has been our lot these past months.

One painful realisation was getting rid of our daughter’s (broken) harp, because it cannot go with us. A dear friend - a harpist - wanted to take it and so it left our home and changed hands for good. It was a delight to see this man so happy with his new acquisition.

That has been actually a marvellous side effect of this ‘giveaway’ time! The wonderful feeling of getting a lot of “stuff” out of our lives and also knowing in our hearts what Jesus said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive!” We have actually been almost giddy at times seeing people blessed by these gifts!

Now we are only 15 days out now from D-Day on 30th April, when we will return the keys to the owner of our home and drive away from what has been our family home … one last time.

Meanwhile, we are surrounded by mountains of stuff, hoping to have it all sorted by the end of the month.

Harp on the way out 😥
